We visited this hotel because it was hosting a convention we were attending. Otherwise the reviews would have kept us away. This hotel very much has the feel of a hotel that was at one time very nice but is having difficulties and may possibly go under in the next few years. While we greatly appreciated the early check in option, the room hadn't been well cleaned: there was a pill in our sheets, food along the edges of wall and under furniture, and trash in corners and under furniture. The bed was lumpy. The showerheads need a good cleaning and possible replacement. Wifi wasn't reliable. We were in one of the corner king suites and it was very quiet and apparently is one of the few room options with a mini fridge. HVAC was struggling to maintain a constant temperature. One of the three elevators was broken the entire weekend making lines for the elevators at certain times of day quite long due to the convention traffic. The staff were wonderful but were obviously overwhelmed. Whoever is in charge of hiring and taking care of their team isn't doing well. They were obviously understaffed and making what few good people they had work extra long shifts and do the work of at least two people during those shifts. Everyone that was working there this past weekend deserves a bonus, time off, and additional team members. The restaurant had lackluster food and charged too much for it. The hotel didn't provide menus for local delivery and carry out options in the room like every other hotel I've ever stayed at. The concessions stand in the convention area served horrible food at ridiculous prices and only accepted cash. Drinks were underwhelming.

Staff was very professional and kind. Check in was an easy process. The lounge was beautiful and relaxing. Room was very clean. But unfortunately, the bed was horrible/outdated. We did book another somewhere else to have a better night sleep. Otherwise a beautiful hotel and close to everything in Gettysburg.

My only complaint are the pillows - they are horribly lumpy and old. They are so lumpy, I’m surprised the hotel thinks it’s ok to have guests sleep on them.

I give this hotel a 3 star rating. Pros: room is clean, pillows are very soft and squishy. I love the chandeliers in the main lobby. It has a baby grand piano. Cons: room is not cold in summer, it is coolish but not cold. I set the air conditioner to 65 degrees Fahrenheit but it feels like 72. The people at the front desk say the room won’t get air conditioned unless you’re in the room due to a sensor that monitors when people are actually in the room. The front desk is usually unattended, which is unprofessional customer service. Room doesn’t come with a fridge. The toilet flush is weak.
