Farnsworth House: FREE Property Tours

Enjoy FREE property tours of the Farnsworth House! Staring at 2pm, explore the attic, cellar and main level of the home. Learn the crucial history that the house played during the battle of Gettysburg. Explore Sweney's Tavern as well as Camp Tiger during this 90 minute tour! Meet your guide at the Farnsworth House Inn sign on Baltimore Street 15 minutes prior to staring the tour!

Beyond Futility: Expectation and Impact of the First World War. Despite years of stagnation on the Western Front, the First World War was a transformational experience for many, Gettysburg College alumni included.  While annihilating the landscape of the Western Front, mechanized and modern warfare impelled creativity and adaptation from soldiers and civilians.  The Front followed these men and women home and impacted their perspectives and prospects.

Living History Camps at the Gettysburg Heritage Center

The Gettysburg Heritage Center hosts Civil War Living History Camps most weekends, April - November.  Civil War reenactors set up camp on the front lawn of the Heritage Center, and offer visitors a glimpse into life during the war.  The groups perform various drills and demonstrations, and are available to answer questions from visitors.  The groups vary from weekend to weekend. Free and open to the public!
