BEAUTIFUL ATMOSPHERE LOADED WITH HISTORY BUT. . .

This is my second stay at this hotel. First one was two years ago. Chose this place the first time because I was traveling with a dog and they have a generous animal policy. This time came back for historical atmosphere, restaurant and location, all of which were great this second time around. My complaints center on three issues. Beds are lumpy with obvious peaks and valleys where bodies have been. Replace your mattresses please! Elevator ding is way too loud. I was in room 541 directly across from elevator bank. Complicating issue was a Turkish convention which had 5:30 morning Muslim prayers. Every morning for 4 days between 5:15 and 5:30 the elevator rang every minute at a very unnecessary volume waking me beyond ability to return to sleep. Lower the volume of your elevator please!! Finally, many rooms do not have tubs. The shower has a glass panel that only covers half of shower stall resulting in water flow and spray out onto the floor with no privacy. Please notify travelers of no bathtub rooms on check in and please resolve your shower panel leakage issues. I would have requesting a room far from elevators and one with a bathtub had I known better!!! I am on the hunt for a different hotel next time I’m visiting Gettysburg. ☹️

Not impressed with room, although staff was nice.

I was here for a business conference in January 2019, and had the pleasure of staying in the Presidential Suite. While the staff was nice and I had no complaints on housekeeping, etc., the room wasn’t great. There were limited outlets and the lighting was poor. When you enter the room, you have to turn on lamps individually, and one was fluorescent and one was a regular light bulb in the hallway. The decor was also dated. This is supposed to be the main suite, and even with every light on, it was hard to see. I bumped up my review from 2 stars to 3 due to the quality of the shower. The side jets made for a great relaxing shower, but I would recommend bringing your own toiletries as the shampoo was the worst I’ve ever used. While the space and shower were nice, nothing else about this room was impressive

Not sure why all the fuss

Not a great expreience. First the keys to the room didn't work. Then we got a room with two doubel beds when we reserved a King room. Bed was lumpy. Bugs on the window sill. Holes in the curtains. Only one small shelf in the shower (no tub). Paint peeling on the bathroom door. No complimentary breakfast. Thankfully I got a good deal on a 3rd party website. Plenty of other options in Gettysburg

Not Bad but Not Great Either !!!

Stayed here a second time in November 2018. Everything basically the same (see previous year ago review). Nice and warm indoor swimming pool. Achilles heel is the lack of complimentary breakfast. Breakfast is served in the 1863 Restaurant inside the hotel. Prices are high - many items are a la carte - items are priced separately. A cup of lukewarm coffee and a glass of juice are each $ 3.95. Main course items are $11 for three tiny pancakes, or $14.00 for eggs benedict. So, add $ 8.00 to the main course and you are paying $ 19.00 or $ 22.00 plus tip. With three (2) people in my party, paying $ 75 or so for breakfast is almost the cost of the room. To add insult to injury, all the food was luke warm, and really not that great - servings were small. Otherwise, the hotel stay was okay. No breakfast buffet was offered because "there weren't "enough" customers staying at the hotel" according to the restaurant staff - although there was a huge convention of 500 people at least at the hotel who were getting their meals catered by the kitchen in large dining halls. Not a bad hotel overall but with their local next door competition not offering complimentary breakfast, Wyndham feels they don't have to either. Also, no microwave in the room to warm baby's milk

Great place to sleep!

We used this spot as a place to sleep while visiting Gettysburg. No complaints. A little dated, but clean and comfortable. The location is just a few miles from downtown Gettysburg. They also have conventions
